Today I have been inspired to create a piece for the Lawn Fawn Challenge # 5, Spring. The lovely blossom photograph made me think of a beautiful book which enthralled me as a child, and subsequently also my daughter, called Flower Fairies of the Spring by Cicely Barker. So I just couldn’t resist creating a box card using the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends and Gleeful Gardens stamp sets with “fairy dust” background card created using the fairy dust elements from the stamp set. In true fairy fashion, glitter and sparkle abounds. I can’t tell you how much fun I had being transported back to that happy place of magical beauty and fantasy.
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends and Gleeful Gardens, Whimsy Stamps Handmade from Me
Dies: Lawn Fawn Scalloped box pop-up, Lawn Fawn Grassy border
Inks: Versamark, Versafine black, Tim Holtz distress to create grass card
Other: Lawn Fawn Watercolor wishes collection pack, embossing powders clear holographic & white, watercolour paper, Zig real brush markers, Wink of Stella clear brush pen, clear crystals, foiled hearts, dark mauve card.
Today I had a play with my, “just arrived in time for Easter”, newly released Lawn Fawn scalloped box die. And how could I not make it into anything else but an Easter box pop-up card with some cute little bunnies and lots of Easter eggs.
I had lots of fun creating this cute little scene, and the box die certainly made creating the box card so quick and easy.
Dies: Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Pop-up card, grass edge die
Stamps: Lawn Fawn: Happy Easter, Hoppy Easter, Yay Kites, Year Four
Other: Copic markers, White embossing powder, Versamark and Memento black inks, coordinating plain and printed papers
Thanks for stopping by and hope that Easter Bunny hopped into your garden.
I am entering this box card in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Hip Hop; Craftaholics R Us April-Easter and Die Cuttin’ Divas Challenge #312, Easter or Spring.
I need to make a special congratulations card for my daughter who has just achieved a career milestone and I also wanted to make a card for the Penny Black and Friends Saturday Challenge, Try Something New. My daughter is a huge cat lover so I had been itching to use the gorgeous “can can” dancing cats from the Penny Black Party Friends set for the very first time. I had also just received a new set of Nuvo Jewel drops in orange, lime and lemon which seemed to be suitably “happy”colours, so I decided to use these for my background colour inspiration. And of course to make my daughter giggle I just had to make these dancing cats dance on a wobbler spring.
Stamps: Penny Black Party Friends, Roald Dahl Hello
Colour: Caran D’Arche Neocolour II watercolour crayons in lime, orange and yellow for background, Memento black
Die: Die-namics Chevron stripes
Other: watercolour paper, Copics to colour cats, Nuvo Jewel drops in Orange Marmalade, Limoncello and Key Lime, white glitter card, wobbler spring.
I think that these cats are such a hoot, you just have to smile. Thank you so much for stopping by.
