I was inspired by this gorgeous photo to create a card using colours that took me out of my normal comfort zone, in addition, Santa so generously bought me some new Altenew toys for Christmas. Here’s what I created.
Sending Hugs and Happy Thoughts
Stamps: Altenew Beautiful Day and Tiny Hearts background. Dies: Altenew Beautiful Day, Hearts strip, DF3413, Marianne designs, hearts nesting die set. Inks: Altenew Buttercream, Warm sunshine, Dark chocolate. Card: White, dark craft. Other: Ultra fine gold embossing powder, Polychromos pencils to colour small foliage pieces, sequins, Wink of Stella clear sparkle pen for frame.
We have just heard some exciting news-our son has been accepted into Oxford University to complete an MBA. So, of course, a befitting card needed to be created and the Ellie stamp set by Avery Elle just seemed to beckon me. Ellie and the balloons were copic coloured, fussy cut and then foam mounted. Background was created using sponged die ink, spritzed and die cut. Star background was created using the Altenew tiny star stamp. Wink of stella was applied to the balloons and grass. Final embellishments using clear twine and clear sequins. Time now to crack open a champagne.
We have just had new neighbours move in next door, arriving from a brrrr Scotland, so I just had to make them a “warm” Gold Coast surfin’ Santa Christmas card. The stamp is by CTMH and was coloured with copics, polychromos pencils and Wink of Stella. They just loved it, although Santa bought them a kayak and not a surfboard!
This is my 2017 New Year’s resolution-my very own blog. I hope that it will be a fun way of sharing my work.
