Today I decided to play with my new My Favourite Things Beautiful Butterflies stamp and die set to create a birthday card for my Mother in-law who is about to celebrate her 95th birthday-whew what an age (she has always loved gardening, so I know that the butterfly should be a hit). Inspired by Yoonsun Hur’s beautiful card I wanted to create a soft watercolour effect with the butterfly.
I die cut the image then painted several soft layers of white and pink using Tim Holtz ink pads, then stamped the vein detail image with TH seedless preserves, and very gently blended this layer off with water, taking care not to lose too much detail. Once dry, I splattered it with gold metallic paint, then a coating with Wink of Stella clear.
Stamps: My Favourite Things Beautiful Butterflies, Flourishes Tag Lines
Dies: MFT Beautiful Butterflies, MFT Stitched Tag, MFT Stitched strip
Inks: Tim Holtz Spun Sugar and Seedless Preserves, Memento Black
Other: Watercolour paper, gold and white paint, sequins, metallic gold and plum washi tapes, patterned background paper, Wink of Stella clear
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I am entering this in The Happy Little Stampers April, Anything goes, Watercolor Challenge.
Today I played with some of my Lawn Fawn stamps and decided to make a fun 21st Birthday card to enter in the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 3- Outstanding occasions. I love the way that the Lawn Fawn stamp sets have little bits that you can interchange around and they always seem to be the right scale, so I decided to make a 21st birthday background paper using some of the fun little bits and stamp ink colours to match the Lawn Fawn plaid paper. And I couldn’t resist the cute little elephant from the Elfie Selfie set to send “Big” congratulations.
Stamps: Background paper: Lawn Fawn Party Animal, Year Seven, Lets Bokeh, WPlus9 Everyday alpha. Main image: Lawn Fawn Elfie Selfie, Year Four, Party Animal, Yay Kites
Paper: Lawn Fawn Perfectly plaid petite paper, lime green card
Other: Copics, Nuvo Jewel drops: Orange Marmalade, Strawberry Coulis, Key Lime, Wink of Stella Clear brush.
Thanks for looking, and I hope that you have a great day.
I was inspired to create a card for the Fusion Interlocking Hearts Valentine Challenge using the card sketch- mirror imaged, and also elements of the quilt image-pink and red colours, the intertwined hearts and the puffiness of the quilting. I instantly new that I had to use my Avery Elle Love Puffin stamp set-they are so intertwined. Here’s what I created.
I used a stencil to create the embossing paste puffy hearts background. I layered this with pink vellum and dry embossed a white heart vellum banner. The intertwined puffins were stamped, black areas coloured with a black memento marker, then clear embossed. The other areas of the Puffins were coloured with Copics.
Stamp: Avery Elle Love Puffin
Dies: nested heart, small heart
Other: White card, pale pink vellum, Elizabeth Crafts heart embossing folder, heart stencil Stampin Up, Viva Modellier Creme, Mother of Pearl mixed to pale pink using Tim Holtz Pickled Raspberry, clear embossing powder, Copics, Memento black marker, red pearlised card, pink bakers twine
Thank you so much for stopping by and I enjoyed creating this Valentines card.
I was inspired to create a card for the Paper Smooches January 2017 Challenge, with the theme of “Cozy”. Funnily enough, cozy warm is not how I want to feel in the height of a Queensland summer, however “cozy together” seemed to be a cooler way to go.
Here’s what I created using Paper Smooches Chubby Chums snuggling up to a shaker nest frame.
The soft watercolour background, banners and stitched wire fence papers were created using Gelato’s.
Stamps: Paper Smooches Chubby Chums, Sugar Pea Funky Wreath, Hero Arts Congrats, Alphabet set
Gelato’s: Metallic Melon, Lime, Lemon
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched border, Stitched circle
Inks: Memento Paris Dusk
Other: Copic markers, watercolour paper, Neenah Solar White card, washi tape, google eyes, assorted sequins.
I had fun and thanks for stopping by.
This is my 2017 New Year’s resolution-my very own blog. I hope that it will be a fun way of sharing my work.
