Today I have been playing with my newly arrived MFT June card kit and decided to create a card for the MFT Color Challenge #72, shades of 2 blues, red and charcoal.
Since I live in the sub tropics I just couldn’t resist the bird of paradise stamp to sit on the mail slot and of course the MFT bold cover ups background die just seemed to compliment the mail slot die. It doesn’t show up in the photography but I love how the MFT brushed silver card looks so much like a real brushed stainless steel letterbox.
Stamps: MFT Birds of Paradise, MFT Lots of Hugs
Dies: MFT Mini Mail Delivery, MFT Mail Delivery, MFT Bold Stripes Cover up
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Faded Jeans, Memento Danube Blue and black
Other: Copic Markers, MFT Brushed Silver card blending card, blue card, silver card.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon.
Today I have been inspired by the gorgeous mood board at the Scrapbook Boutique February Challenge. I loved the colours and the definite beach mood that it conveyed.
I began by creating a sea background by clear embossing the MFT Whimsical Waves background, then sponging 3 ombre effect layers of colour using Altenew inks which were then spritzed with water. I die cut a curved border strip to convey the image of sea foam as the sea hits the shore and then coated this with Bo Bunny Sugar Glitter paste. The three stamped images were coloured with Zig brush markers, fussy cut then coated with glossy accents to create dimension as well as to convey the glassy feeling of sea water. To create the effect of sand grains the chipboard letters were painted with Tim Holtz broken glass distress paint then ombre effect layered with 3 colours of ultrafine glitters before coating with glossy accents. Once the card was assembled I added water drops using Nuvo crystal clear.
I now just can’t wait to spend another day at the beach.
Stamps: MFT Whimsical Waves background, Clear Impressions Sea Breeze, Flourishes Sea Side Life

We have just had new neighbours move in next door, arriving from a brrrr Scotland, so I just had to make them a “warm” Gold Coast surfin’ Santa Christmas card. The stamp is by CTMH and was coloured with copics, polychromos pencils and Wink of Stella. They just loved it, although Santa bought them a kayak and not a surfboard!
