Today I have been inspired to create a piece for the Lawn Fawn Challenge # 5, Spring. The lovely blossom photograph made me think of a beautiful book which enthralled me as a child, and subsequently also my daughter, called Flower Fairies of the Spring by Cicely Barker. So I just couldn’t resist creating a box card using the Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends and Gleeful Gardens stamp sets with “fairy dust” background card created using the fairy dust elements from the stamp set. In true fairy fashion, glitter and sparkle abounds. I can’t tell you how much fun I had being transported back to that happy place of magical beauty and fantasy.
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Fairy Friends and Gleeful Gardens, Whimsy Stamps Handmade from Me
Dies: Lawn Fawn Scalloped box pop-up, Lawn Fawn Grassy border
Inks: Versamark, Versafine black, Tim Holtz distress to create grass card
Other: Lawn Fawn Watercolor wishes collection pack, embossing powders clear holographic & white, watercolour paper, Zig real brush markers, Wink of Stella clear brush pen, clear crystals, foiled hearts, dark mauve card.
I have been waiting to find time to play with the new release Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin stamp set. Just couldn’t resist the image of the birthday cake tin of fish-well what self respecting cat wouldn’t think that this was the optimum birthday treat. And… I also couldn’t resist entering the Lawnfawnatics challenge #4, Black /White and Bright.
I began by creating the confetti black and white background using black embossing paste and stencil, then coating the confetti pieces with black Wink of Stella. I created a bright purple background with Tim Holtz distress inks and glimmer mist for sparkle. The Zig brush marker watercoloured images were also coated with Wink of Stella clear.
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Meow You Doin
Dies: Die-namics Rectangle Peek-a-boo window
Other: Watercolour paper, Kaisercraft Geo quarters stencil, black embossing paste, Wink of Stella Black and Clear brush markers, Zig brush markers, Nuvo Jewel drops-orange marmalade, pale periwinkle, Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads, Versafine black ink pad, clear embossing powder, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist-dazzling diamonds.
I just wish that the photography had picked up the bling of this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope that you have a purrfect day.
Today I had a play with my, “just arrived in time for Easter”, newly released Lawn Fawn scalloped box die. And how could I not make it into anything else but an Easter box pop-up card with some cute little bunnies and lots of Easter eggs.
I had lots of fun creating this cute little scene, and the box die certainly made creating the box card so quick and easy.
Dies: Lawn Fawn Scalloped Box Pop-up card, grass edge die
Stamps: Lawn Fawn: Happy Easter, Hoppy Easter, Yay Kites, Year Four
Other: Copic markers, White embossing powder, Versamark and Memento black inks, coordinating plain and printed papers
Thanks for stopping by and hope that Easter Bunny hopped into your garden.
I am entering this box card in Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Hip Hop; Craftaholics R Us April-Easter and Die Cuttin’ Divas Challenge #312, Easter or Spring.
Today I have been inspired by the Altenew Inspiration Challenge, March 2017.
It is such a “HAPPY” image, both in subject and colour, so I decided to use the word happy with Altenew’s Doodle Blooms using the challenge colours of yellow, orange and red.
I first created some watercolour papers using my new Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks and used these behind the happy negative word die cut and also to stamp the flowers. I drew some white gel pen doodles on the flowers. I added some “movement”, reminiscent of the dancers, to the white background with ink splatters and the stitched strip die.
Stamps: Altenew Doodle Blooms, Lawn Fawn Lets Bokeh
Dies: Altenew Doodle Blooms, Die-namics Stitched strip, WPlus9 Happy Trio
Inks: Tim Holtz Oxide Distress Inks-Peeled Paint, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick; Memento black
Other: watercolour paper, coloured rhinestones, white gel pen, black & white washi tape
Thanks for stopping by and “Have a Happy Day”.
I was inspired by the Just Add Ink #343 Blog Hop Pop-Up & Interactive card challenge to create a cute baby card for a dear friend who has just become a first time grandmother to a beautiful grandson. I do just love being able to create special cards for special people in my life. Here’s what I created with a glossy accents dimensional rocking horse as a centrepiece.
Stamps: Personal Impressions Big Sentiments, Penny Black Word Express, Kaisercraft stitched circles, Rocking Horse stamp, source unknown, Altenew tiny hearts background.
Inks: Altenew Caribbean sky (heart background), ocean waves (welcome baby), black memento
Dies: stitched rectangle, stitched circle, stitched borders, lawn fawn
Other: assorted sequins and confetti for shaker. Sprinkle berries 3mm blue for embellishments, white card, Polychromos pencils to colour rocking horse, glossy accents to coat fussy cut horse.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I was inspired to create a card for the Paper Smooches January 2017 Challenge, with the theme of “Cozy”. Funnily enough, cozy warm is not how I want to feel in the height of a Queensland summer, however “cozy together” seemed to be a cooler way to go.
Here’s what I created using Paper Smooches Chubby Chums snuggling up to a shaker nest frame.
The soft watercolour background, banners and stitched wire fence papers were created using Gelato’s.
Stamps: Paper Smooches Chubby Chums, Sugar Pea Funky Wreath, Hero Arts Congrats, Alphabet set
Gelato’s: Metallic Melon, Lime, Lemon
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched border, Stitched circle
Inks: Memento Paris Dusk
Other: Copic markers, watercolour paper, Neenah Solar White card, washi tape, google eyes, assorted sequins.
I had fun and thanks for stopping by.
